    Still Life

This group of works is based materially on small rocks and bones picked up and pocketed during walks. Looked at closely, they seemed to contain worlds far beyond their size, and I painted them, in oil with added canvas on masonite, sometimes with close attention to their visual reality but always extrapolating freely and moving their shapes, colors, and forms in a more metaphorical direction. The series itself, is called Infinite Infinitives, and each work represents a seminal realization in the process of living; each work is meant as a reminder of this realization, to be revisited as often as necessary to keep the new knowledge alive.
